Our Story

Over the past 25 years, Merchant Consulting Service has built the reputation of being a reliable consulting group for electronic payments processing. Our customers have ranged in size and complexity, from flea market vendors to multimillion dollar corporations, with a variety of processing and procedural concerns and doubts about their current setups.

After working for 10 years in the merchant services industry, John Andersen, President of Merchant Consulting Service, realized the strong need for someone to represent merchants with honesty and transparency about how credit card processing REALLY works.

It’s too common for traditional processors to take advantage of merchants due to their lack of knowledge and their lack of disclosure. Merchant Consulting Service is your partner for helping you find solutions and answers, and gain the knowledge you need to eliminate “Rate Creep.”

Through our unique consultant approach called DACTA®, we will help you improve your processing efficiency (reduce soft cost) and produce a wealth of savings in needless account fees. Through in-depth discovery, detailed analysis, showing you how credit card processing really works and regular audits, you will always pay exactly what you were promised.

“I have worked with John Andersen and Merchant Consulting Service for over 10 years, while employed at three different businesses. John has always acted in a professional and honest manner. At the first business he helped us reduce our processing fees substantially. At the second business, he was honest and told us the rates we had were as good as he could provide us with. At Kingspan, John helped us not only reduce our costs in both our U.S. and Canadian operations, but he also helped us streamline our process in both business groups. He continues to audit our process and fees on a regular basis to make sure we have no “fee creep” that goes unnoticed.

I highly recommend John and Merchant Consulting Service and if I were to change employers tomorrow one of the first calls I would make would be to John for a review of our credit card process.”
